OnPoint Teaching & Instruction
OnPoint dance and movement instruction continues in venues throughout New England, "shaping" dance students and programs, through personalized training that is based in statewide and national frameworks and standards.
Dance performances range from community arts centers, colleges, private schools, public K-12 schools, libraries, arts and culture festivals, and numerous jazz venues throughout New England.
Essential elements of ballet, jazz, modern, African, and creative movement is taught in multi-level and age-appropriate settings. Emphasis is on body positioning, alignment, centering, lengthening and strengthening of critical muscle groups. Special "turning" and other genre-specific techniques are taught in class or clinics. Implementation of these Dance Fundamentals results in performance combinations that are created during class.
Private and group lessons taught since 1980 in national health centers. Emphasis on the basic elements of health and fitness, including: proper nutrition, sleep, meditation, relaxation, cardiovascular, skeletal, muscular, cellular, and respiratory integrity. Results include: maximum strength, coordination and toning of the "CORE" muscles located between the rib cage and hips, flexibility of important muscle groups, and proper alignment of the body - for Total Body Fitness.
